Add veggies to cooked macaroni & cheese!
Prepare your favorite boxed macaroni & cheese according to the package directions. About 3 minutes before your macaroni is fully cooked in the boiling water, carefully drop in some frozen peas or broccoli (about 1/4-1/2 cup peas -or- 1 cup broccoli florets). Stir together and, when they’re done cooking, drain the green veggies and the macaroni together, then add your cheese sauce made the way the box tells you. If you want to really enhance how yummy this is, add a sprinkle of garlic and/or onion powder to the sauce.
Did you know that garlic is really good for your immune system and green veggies make your macaroni fuel your body better? Boost your health with this tasty treat!
Most vegetables and many fruits are available frozen. Frozen vegetables are just as healthy as fresh ones, but they last way longer. They’re also much healthier and they always taste better than canned ones.
Whenever you have the option, choose frozen over canned!

Try new snack mix combos, smoothies & frozen treats!
Instead of always reaching for chips, candy, or ice cream, try munching on some of these delicious treats:
Make your own trail mix with any nuts (I love pecans and almonds) and dried fruit (like raisins or cranberries) you like…don’t forget the chocolate chips!
Go to Crunchtown with popcorn mixed with pretzels or cereal. You could make this salty, sweet or both! Try adding yoghurt covered pretzels or honey roasted peanuts mixed with your popcorn.
A classic favorite is always fruit -or- veggies with nut butter -or- dip. I love apples & peanut butter, but I also like celery with peanut butter and raisins! Almond butter is also delish! Carrots, cucumbers, or cherry tomatoes in ranch dressing is refreshing and yummy.
Smoothies are lipsmackingly yummy and can be packed with healthy goodness. Experiment to find your favorite flavors by adding yoghurt, frozen fruit, milk and maybe even something green like frozen spinach.
Freeze apple juice, orange juice, sweetened herbal tea, or even a smoothie in ice cube trays to make unique ice pops.
Red, yellow and orange fruits and veggies (think: apples, carrots, bell peppers, strawberries) are high in vitamin C and many great minerals, while blue, purple and green ones (think: blueberries, blackberries, spinach) are packed with antioxidants. And, they’re all deeeeeelicious!
Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants boost your immune system to help keep you from getting sick and they keep your whole body running well by making your inner systems - like cardiovascular (heart) and digestion (tummy/gut) - work properly.
Choose happiness!
Move & breathe
unhappiness and anger away!
Try “Dragon Breath”
This breath-and-movement exercise is designed to help people of all ages come back to a calm emotional state by releasing angry or excessive energy and settling anxiety. Use this in place of yelling at or being aggressive toward someone, or any time you need to release a highly emotional state, lower tension, or clear your mind.
HOW TO:
Take a lunging stance with your front foot flat on the floor and knee bent at 90 ̊. Bend your back knee and place it on the floor. Raise your arms up over head, shoulder distance apart.
Breathe as deeply as you can through your nose with your arms raised.
Exhale through the mouth, sighing loudly or roaring like a lion. Stick your tongue out as far as you can while thrusting your arms straight forward in front of you. Breathe out all the air while shaking your hands and wiggling your fingers to mimmick flames.
Do this 3-5 times, or as many as it takes to help you feel a sense of relief. Switch your feet around and repeat this motion 3-5 more times on the other side.
